You might say Doug Soprovich was born into the home business. Designer, Building Construction Engineer and Artisan, Soprovich’s love for home building and renovations grew out of his family’s involvement in some of Edmonton’s most well-recognized developments of the past five decades. Starting 1980 as one of Edmonton’s youngest homebuilders, Soprovich was a general contractor at a time when most people his age were still deciding on their career path. In 1991 Doug & his wife Marie formed Aquarian Construction which now specializes in updating ‘classic’ era homes. This requires a rare blend of engineering and artistic ability, since the final product must be aesthetically pleasing and structurally feasible, in equal measure. For Soprovich, it’s a welcome challenge and each home brings it’s own rewards. Having been a life long Edmontonian, Soprovich notes it’s particularly fulfilling to breathe new life into someone’s home. “These are neighborhoods that I grew up in,” he remarks. “They have a character, charm and warmth that is irreplaceable.” Behind the passion for what they do is an equally determined focus to do things right the first time, backed by a strong service policy.
